Diflucan

Diflucan (fluconazole) is a highly-efficient prescription medication intended for the treatment of fungal infections. On the first day of your treatment your health care provider may recommend taking a double dose. You may need to take a double dose when you first start using Diflucan. Do so only if it was the recommendation of your health care provider but avoid taking a double dose in the future to prevent side effects from taking place. Having an allergy to this medicine is a contraindication for taking Diflucan. Inform your health care provider of any of the following side effects that are quite serious and can cause further complications of your condition: unusual tiredness, loss of appetite, flu-like symptoms, seizures, yellowing of the skin or eyes, hives, dark urine, itching, unusual bruising or bleeding, trouble breathing or swallowing, rash, swelling of the face, and an upset stomach. If you have been prescribed the liquid form of Diflucan it's important to shake it well before administration. Do not stop the treatment until your health care provider tells you to stop, as this may cause your infection to come back. Some tests may be done by your health care provider to make sure the infection has been completely treated and only then will you be able to stop taking Diflucan.
